First Pick
Starting off the new Paint Edits section with something quick and fun! Sometimes I don't want to paint massive landscapes or intricate buildings—sometimes I just see a pair of cherries on the counter and want to capture that bright, glossy red. This took me just a few minutes in real-time, but it's exactly the kind of random, everyday thing that keeps me picking up my watercolors."

Painting was never my thing. Yes I did manage to get some works exhibited back in high school, but that was it. I never really saw myself as this art person. I always wished I was, but I think art was never really fond of me. LOL.
However, my shrink recommended i start picking up pens or colors or brushes to calm myself down. And so I did -- after a decade. I tried so many times, bought so many art stuff, but couldn't seem to make it touch paper. I felt like my hand would have no idea what to do.
When I hit rock bottom, that's when I just did it. Either I loom over my situation, or I try to relax so I can actually do something about it as opposed to just panicking.
This is my first painting in decades. Dare I say, about 20 years after. I painted this 3 years ago. It's just with the rest of my paintings. But it always bears memories. Fond and extremely painful ones. But hey, it's just a cherry. LOL
